Stock investors are making too big a deal of Robinhood Markets not being added to the S&P 500.
Despite weeks of speculation that Robinhood HOOD would be added to the S&P 500 SPX, S&P Dow Jones Indices last Friday decided against the move. Notwithstanding short-term traders’ disappointment with the announcement, being added to the S&P 500 does not have the significant price impact on a stock that it once did.
