Doom: The Dark Ages has once again brought the realm-hopping, demon-punching, face-stabbing Slayer to our screens, and this time, he’s going medieval on the forces of hell. A noteworthy change this time around is how id Software has presented maps and arenas bigger than ever before in a Doom game.
With bigger maps come more secret paths to discover and more collectibles to get. As such, here’s a guide to getting a 100% completion achievement on the game’s first chapter, the Village of Khalim.
This guide covers each collectible required for 100% level completion in chronological order.

Chapter 1: Village of Khalim in Doom: The Dark Ages has plenty to offer
We get our first glimpse at a big arena in latest Doom game
The very first chapter of Doom: The Dark Ages offers linear progression as well as a huge arena to explore at your own pace, ending in a fantastic action-packed segment. Following the objectives in the chapter along with the instructions provided below, it won't be long before you can claim that sweet 100% completion tag for the first level of Doom: The Dark Ages.
First Life Sigil and secret area
The game’s first Life Sigil is easy to miss

The first secret area in the chapter is found right after getting the Melee upgrade for the Gauntlet.

Heading through this largely linear section of the map, you’ll reach an area with plenty of armor and health pickups and two Imp Stalkers to fight against.

Once done, a large climbable wall will present itself, but before you head to it, look to the left to see a path blocked off by wooden planks with the shield symbol on them.

Simply bash through the planks to access the first secret area in the map, which holds a Life Sigil (1UP) and an Armor Helmet pickup, along with some NPCs taking shelter.

Collectible — Imp Toy
The Slayer definitely likes his toys

In the linear section of the map before it opens up, the Slayer needs to find a blue keycard to make progress.

After following the objective, taking down a few cultists and grabbing the keycard in the church, as you Shield Bash through the wooden wall to get back to where you need to go, turn around and go back to where you fought 3 Imp Stalkers.

Right in the adjacent area, where you fought a couple of Imp Stalkers and fodder enemies, you’ll see a barricaded path with a blue lock symbol on it.

Simply approaching it now should open it up, giving you access to a new secret area and the collectible Imp toy ahead.
Purple Keycard and a Life Sigil
It isn’t a DOOM game without color-coded keycards

Once the map opens up and gives you 4 demonic portals to close, there's a secret purple keycard you can collect in this area. This will open up the purple-locked gate right under the huge Sentinel Knight statue. It's impossible to miss.

The secret purple keycard in this map is found at the top-most, north-east corner, where a demonic portal and an encounter with demons await you.

Once you’ve dispatched the group of demons here, look ahead to find a large metal crane on top of a rock outcropping.

Simply head on over to the area under the crane, head right, and you’ll see the big purple key and its hologram glowing and calling out to you.

Getting this key allows you to open the secret door under the huge Sentinel Knight statue at the start of the map, so head on over there to grab a Life Sigil.

Weapon Skin — Combat Shotgun
A destroyer needs his decor

This is perhaps the trickiest area on the map, and it took me my second playthrough to finally find how to access this secret area that holds plenty of armor, health, and a weapon skin for your Combat Shotgun.

At this location on the map, you'll find a secret area barricaded off by metal bars with no apparent way to enter it.

Simply turn left to face the water flowing underneath you, and carefully jump down to a hole in the cliff wall that houses a flaming torch.

In here, you’ll see the secret weapon skin up ahead, but it will lock itself as a Pinky Rider and two Imp Stalkers ambush you.

You can use the explosive cylinders lying all around here in the cave to dispatch them quickly, but be careful not to cause self-damage through the explosions. Once you have the Weapon Skin for the Combat Shotgun, head to the next room to find a good old jump pad you’ll recognize from previous Doom games, especially if you’re an Eternal vet. Simply jump on it to find ammo, armor, and health.
Collectible — Soldier Toy
Another addition to the shelf

In the field where you get the Shredder rifle, look beyond the rifle’s pod to see a glowing white cross in the water.

Head towards it and look down the cliff edge to see a small hidden path leading to a cave.

Just drop down here to find the Soldier Toy collectible, and an armor and health pickup.

Careful on the way out, though, as an Imp Stalker tries to ambush you. Dispatch him with ease and scramble up the climbable wall to get back to the field with the Shredder rifle pod.
Codex Page 1 — The Doom Slayer
We’ve all Googled ourselves, haven't we?

The final demonic portal is where you fight a Pinky Rider and its fodder demons right next to the shore. This is a big, round field, with two large tombstones jutting out from the ground. Again, impossible to miss.

Once the portal goes away, a raised, flat rock presents itself up above.

Simply head towards the right and climb up two walls to head to the top.

Once at the top, you'll see that neatly placed between two rock outcroppings, will be the first Codex Page of this chapter.
Codex Page 2 — Village of Khalim
Getting the lore of the land

As you enter the final stage of the map after closing all 4 demonic portals, you’ll reach an area where a massive titan is fighting a dragon in the middle of the sea.

Drop down to complete the first encounter here, where you’ll fight three Imp Stalkers and two Pinky Riders along with plenty of fodder demons.

Once they are down, the barrier to the final area will open, with plenty of armor pickups lining the way.

Here, once you cross the barrier that just opened up, look to the right to find a climbable wall.

It’s pretty easy to miss, so walk slowly. Climb up the wall, and you’ll come across several NPCs taking shelter, with a Codex Page in their midst.
All collectibles in Chapter 1: Village of Khalim in Doom: The Dark Ages
That's it — once you go through the above instructions and collect everything the map has to offer in Chapter 1 of Doom: The Dark Ages, you'll get that sweet, sweet 100% completion tag for the chapter.
