Summary

  • Intel tells gamers to "stay tuned" on an Arc B770 announcement at Computex.
  • Nvidia and AMD are rumored to launch their own budget offerings at the show, setting up competition with the Arc B770.
  • Intel may also launch a dual-GPU version of Arc B580 at Computex for AI development.

Rumors have been swirling about Intel's fabled Arc B770 graphics card. After reportedly being canceled behind the scenes, the card resurfaced in shipping manifests just a few weeks ago. Now, Intel is doubling down. In an announcement that Intel would launch new Arc Pro graphics cards at Computex, the Intel X account is responding to users and telling them to "stay tuned" for the Arc B770, as spotted by VideoCardz.

Intel is setting up an Arc B770 launch at Computex

The cat's out of the bag now

Intel's Arc B580 has been a smash success, undercutting AMD and Nvidia with a $250 price point while delivering solid midrange performance. However, it doesn't scale up to compete with the latest GPUs from Nvidia and AMD, namely cards like the RTX 5060 Ti. The Arc B770 could bridge that gap. Shipping manifests reveal the card uses the BMG-G31 die, which features 60% more Xe cores than the full BMG-G21 die that's available on the Arc B580. If the Arc B770 uses the full G31 die, gamers are in for quite the performance uplift.

Although Intel hasn't outright confirmed the Arc B770 is launching next week, it's hard to imagine anything else happening. The official Intel X account responded to at least half a dozen commenters, telling them to "stay tuned" on the Arc B770. Intel is set to give a presentation at Computex led by Saurbh Kulkarni, Intel's vice president of Intel AI systems and GPU products, so Team Blue has something to share on the graphics front at the show.

The Arc B770 isn't the only announcement in the tank for Intel. In addition to the aforementioned Arc Pro cards, rumors suggest Intel will launch a dual-GPU version of the Arc B580 at Computex. This GPU will reportedly come with 48GB of total VRAM and two Arc B580 GPUs attached on the same PCB. The rumor mill says this card isn't built for gaming purposes, and with its high VRAM capacity, it certainly seems geared towards aspiring AI developers.

It won't be long until we know what Intel has been cooking up. Computex kicks off on May 20 in Taipei, and Intel's presentation is scheduled for May 21. Nvidia and AMD aren't standing idly by, however. Nvidia has already confirmed that the RTX 5060 will launch just a day before the Computex doors open, and rumors suggest AMD will launch a lower-end RX 9060 XT at the event.
