Summary
- Intel's Arc B580 targets budget gaming and is considered successful.
- Unique features differentiate brands' Arc B580 cards, minor impact on performance.
- Intel's board partner planning dual-GPU version of Arc B580 exclusive to brand, unclear purpose.
Intel officially announced the Arc B580 GPU last year to target the budget gaming segment. Unlike its recent CPU releases, Intel's Arc B580 is so far considered successful in what it is meant to do. While the performance of all Arc B580 cards is the same, brands offer unique features to stand out from the competition.
Those tweaks are mostly minor and have little to no impact on the overall performance. However, one of Intel's board partners is planning to do something that no other players are known to be involved in: a dual-GPU version of the Arc B580.

Intel Arc B580 with 48GB of memory may be coming soon

According to sources close to Videocardz, a dual-GPU version of Intel Arc B580 is all set to launch at Computex 2025 (May 23 to May 23). This will be a custom-built graphics card exclusive to that brand and isn't based on any of Intel's official hardware designs. As the name suggests, it'll have two Arc B850 GPUs on one PCB with 48GB (24GB×2) of memory.
According to Videocardz, the dual-GPU version of the Arc B580 isn't meant for gamers. However, there is no clarity over the purpose of such a graphics card, and whether there are other unique specs that make it different from the regular B850. Maybe AI-related workload? Time will tell, but this will surely excite enthusiasts. However, it's worth noting that Arc GPUs come with 12GB of memory, and while there is chatter about Intel's plan for a higher 24GB variant, there is no concrete evidence to suggest that such a product will launch anytime soon.
Should you buy Intel Arc B580?
Intel Arc B580 performs as well as you'd expect from the mid-range card, but if you pair it with an old CPU, you might see a drop in performance. This issue is now acknowledged by Intel, and the company is currently working on a fix. So, if you care about every drop of performance it's meant to offer and have an old CPU, the Intel Arc B580 may not be the best option for you.
