Paramount Global’s $8 billion merger with Skydance Media has faced opposition from the Trump administration

Paramount Global has reportedly agreed to settle a lawsuit brought by President Donald Trump over an interview with former Vice President Kamala Harris that was aired by CBS last year. The settlement opens the door to Paramount Global’s proposed $8 billion merger with Skydance Media, says Raymond James.

Trump had filed a $20 billion defamation suit against Paramount’s PARA CBS subsidiary, alleging that “60 Minutes” deceptively edited an interview with Harris that aired in the run-up to the presidential election.
