Philips Hue lighting is getting even more expensive on July 1 as a ‘direct result’ of tariffs

In the smart home world, Philips Hue already has some of the more expensive options, and now those prices are going even higher thanks to US tariffs.

Over the past few weeks, Philips Hue has been advertising a 25% off sale to its customers via email with the added detail that “Our prices increase on July 1.”

Signify, the company behind the Philips Hue brand, has now expanded on what this means.

Speaking to HueBlog, Signify says that Philips Hue will “increase prices” in the US starting on July 1, and attributes it directly to tariffs in the country. The exact impact of these price increases has yet to be confirmed, but the new Hue Smart Button and Wall Washer products launching in the US at a 10% price hike compared to other regions offers a pretty good idea of what to expect.

Signify will increase prices on our Philips Hue portfolio in the US, effective July 1, 2025, as a direct result of tariffs. We remain committed to providing consumers with high-quality products and features that make smart lighting extraordinary. Signify reserves the right to modify prices based on new or additional tariffs becoming effective in the future.

US tariffs have had wide-reaching impacts across the tech space, with countless products seeing price fluctuations and changes in recent months. Another example just today includes the new Yale Smart Lock with Matter. Announced in March for $170, the lock went on sale today for $189, with Yale blaming tariffs for the jump.

Price hikes on Philips Hue products won’t kick in until July 1 and, in the meantime, the official store is running a 25% off sale on many products with the coupon “HUE-25-FLASH” at checkout.
