A busy week of gaming news continues. One day after Epic’s State of Unreal showcase, and just ahead of the Nintendo Switch 2 launch (and Summer Game Fest Live and the Xbox Games Showcase) Sony is getting in on the action with its latest State of Play stream, which was surprise-announced just a day ahead of time.
There aren’t a lot of details of what to expect. Sony says the event will last around 40 minutes, and will feature “news and updates on must-play games coming to PS5” and include “a selection of great games from creators across the globe.” We do know the PS5 has some major releases incoming, including Death Stranding 2: On the Beach later this month and Ghost of Yōtei in October. Other possibly out-there rumors include remasters of Bloodborne and Final Fantasy Tactics.
Whatever ends up being shown, you can follow along with all of the important updates right here. State of Play kicks off on June 4th at 5PM ET.
It’s (almost) Sony’s turn.
A week of gaming news chugs on, and up next is PlayStation’s latest State of Play. It kicks off at 5PM ET and is expected to last around 40 minutes.
Playstation is holding its State of Play summer showcase this week
Sony has announced it will hold a summer State of Play presentation on Wednesday, June 4th, making this first week of June an all-timer for the video game industry. Not only do we have the Switch 2 launching this week, but all the video game showcases are dropping at once, because while E3 is a thing of the past, we still need an excuse to party.
Summer Game Fest, affectionately (or not) known as Keigh-3, kicks off Friday, June 6th. Xbox will host its showcase on Sunday, June 8th. Epic has its State of Unreal going on right now. And now PlayStation will join the slate of summer programming with its own showcase on Twitch and YouTube starting at 5PM ET / 2PM PT.
