Malware evolves year after year as bad actors create new ways to avoid detection and maximize the damage they can cause. To better protect your sensitive information, it wouldn't be a bad idea to store your files on an external drive.

At Amazon, you can purchase a Kingston IronKey Vault Privacy 80 External SSD at a new low price ahead of Prime Day. You have two options available. The 960GB model is on sale for $240, a $40 discount. If you need more space, the 1.92TB option is available for $290, down $80 from its original $370 price point. There are two larger-size options available, but neither of them is on sale. The huge 7.6TB drive is nearly $1,000.
What makes Kingston IronKey Vault SSD unique is its robust security features. It's been certified for XTS-AES 256-bit encryption, a powerful data encryption standard developed by Kingston itself. According to the company, the encryption aims to patch up any vulnerabilities that could be exploited by "sophisticated side-channel attacks."
The result is a drive protected against all manner of cybersecurity threats, including brute force attacks and BadUSB, which are thumb drives infected with malware. The IronKey Vault has two levels of Read-Only protection. This means people can access the files on the SSD, but they can't save anything on it in order to prevent infection via malware.

If that's not enough, Kingston's device houses an integrated touchscreen that can be secured with either a password or a PIN. Through the screen, owners can, among other things, create different profiles for multiple users and establish a set number of password attempts. Despite its bulky design, the IronKey Vault is relatively fast, boasting maximum read and write speeds of 250 MB/s.
