The Steam Summer Sale has kicked off, live now through July 10, offering discounts on a ton of games on the platform. The deals can range wildly, from getting the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy for just a couple of bucks, or to small discounts on 2025 big releases, like Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 for 10% off. Steam is home to a ton of games though, and that means 100s of deals for you to sort through. Luckily for you, I have gone through and pulled seven of the best deals happening during the sale, to save you time and money. These are deep discounts on great games, both new and old.

7 Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy

The best written Marvel game

Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy unfortunately suffered from following up the maligned Marvel's Avengers game, but it's an incredible single-player journey. While the combat is just good enough, and the Guardians themselves look like discount versions of their MCU counterparts, the story and writing in this game are excellent. It tells an emotionally resonating story about the Guardians and their place in the universe as a bunch of screw-ups who want to be heroes. The plot and characters do enough to differ from the MCU films, and once you get used to them being different, I think you will find it is an excellent single-player adventure, especially at its current price of just a few bucks.

6 Avowed

One of the best RPGs of 2025 so far

If you don't want to subscribe to Xbox Game Pass, or just prefer having all of your PC games on Steam, Avowed has gotten a nice discount on Steam as part of the summer sale. The first-person fantasy RPG from Obsidian, the developers behind Fallout: New Vegas and Pentiment, features everything you would want from this style of RPG, in a small package. It has fluid feeling first-person combat, that always feels weighty and pointed, regardless of if you are using a sword, gun, or wand. There are tons of great NPCs and a strong narrative filled with tough choices to make. While some people might be disappointed it's not a true open-world, each zone is intricately designed, with tons of secrets to track down. If you have any affinity for games like Skyrim, Avowed will absolutely satisfy.

5 Resident Evil 4 (2023)

A fantastic remake of one of the best games ever made

Resident Evil 4 (2023) is a remake of the beloved classic, but this remake makes a few small changes, to create a fantastic feeling third-person shooter. Follow Leon as he attempts to save Ashley, the president's daughter, from a strange cult, poisoned by a mysterious serum. It features a bit more action and corny lines compared to Resident Evil 2 (2019), which is also on sale for $10, but it still manages to balance the fun moments and lines with the survival horror aspects. It also now includes the free Mercenaries DLC, which gives you fun arcade-like survival levels, so you can really enjoy the new fluid combat. The Separate Ways DLC is also great, and only an additional $10, making it a no-brainer if you love the base game.

4 DOOM (2016)

See where the excellent modern Doom trilogy began

Doom (2016) marked the reboot of the franchise, taking the fast-moving and bloody first-person-shooter all about ripping and tearing through demons, and evolving it beyond modern standards. Doom Eternal is also on sale for a deep discount, but the original is dirt cheap and still worth playing. It doesn't have the platforming and loop-based combat of Doom Eternal, but Doom (2016) has incredible core shooting, tons of great guns, an excellent soundtrack, and the best story of the three games. It's the best story, in the sense that there is very little of it, and Doom Guy is constantly undercutting it, because all he cares about is killing demons. Its only downside is that the multiplayer isn't worth checking out, although it is fun, and it doesn't have the environmental variety the other two games have, but it still kicks ass.

3 Monster Hunter World and Iceborne

A great deal for 100s of hours worth of Monster Hunting

While Monster Hunter Wilds suffers from overwhelmingly negative reviews on Steam due to poor PC optimization and performance, now is a great time to jump into Monster Hunter World. Not only is there a ton of content in the base game itself, but you can also pick up the Iceborne expansion in a bundle, more than doubling the amount of content you have available to you. On top of that, there have been a ton of monsters and quests added as free content updates, meaning there is more than enough Monster Hunter to play. You hunt massive monsters, either alone or with up to three other people, and use the materials to create new weapons and gear. The main story is pretty rough, but it's fairly short, and is more like a tutorial than a main campaign. If you want to play Monster Hunter on PC and don't have a top of the line rig to run Monster Hunter Wilds, Monster Hunter World is a great pickup.

2 Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown

One of the best Metroidvanias of recent years is more than half off

Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown has been on Steam for less than a year, but the Ubisoft-made Metroidvania is more than half off during the Steam Summer Sale. Despite coming from Ubisoft, it is an incredibly made Metroidvania, featuring both intense platforming challenges, and tough combat sequences, all wrapped up in a gorgeous-looking 2D-style game. It also features one of the coolest features I've seen in a Metroidvania game, the map marker system. You can take a screenshot, in-game, and pin it to your map, allowing you to know not only where you saw something you needed a power for you hadn't unlocked yet, but also a visual to remind you of what that secret was. If you have any affinity for this style of tough action game, Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown is a must-play.

1 Death Stranding: Director's Cut

There is still time to catch up before playing Death Stranding 2: On The Beach

Death Stranding 2: On The Beach just launched on PS5, but it likely won't appear on PC for at least a year. While that exclusivity window is a bummer, that does mean you have time to play through the original on Steam before that, and it's on sale during the Summer Sale. Play as Sam Porter Bridges, a delivery man tasked with reconnecting America after it was decimated, forcing people to have to isolate themselves in their homes. It has a fairly deep gameplay system for delivering packages, including using bridges built by other players, along with ladders and zip lines you can construct. It has some combat to break up the deliveries, and it has all the esoteric storytelling from Hideo Kojima you could ask for. The PC version is also the director's cut, which includes gameplay improvements. If you own the base verison on Steam, the upgrade to the director's cut is also on sale.

Hundreds of games on sale

The Steam Summer Sale includes a ton of games at steep discounts, so even if you found something you like in this list, it's always worth poking around or checking your wishlist for more. Steam also occasionally runs more limited-time sales during the Summer Sale, so keep an eye out for new sales. The event runs through July 10, and while every game on this list will be on sale through that date, you can always check a game's Steam page to see when that particular discount expires.
