Bluetti Elite 100 V2
Amazon Prime Day is here, and you might be forgiven for thinking you're trapped in the movie Groundhog Day, because wasn't it also Prime Day yesterday and the day before? Yup, it was -- for the first time, Prime Day is a four-day shopping event, compared to two days in the past, running July 8-11. But never mind -- the deals are worth it!
And some deals are so good, I feel like I need to tell you about them even though I've not yet finished my review of the product. And the product in question is Bluetti's new Elite 100 V2 portable power station, the smaller brother to the Elite 200 V2 that I covered earlier.
If you want a highly portable, yet highly capable power station for your adventures, this is well worth a look, because right now you can get 50% off. And if you use coupon code ZDNETBLUETTI at checkout, you can get an extra 5% off just for being a ZDNET reader.

I've not yet finished dotting the i's and crossing the t's on the Elite 100 V2 review, but I've been using it a lot over the past few weeks and I'm more than happy to give this power station a glowing recommendation. It has everything that I think people want from a small power station.

With the Elite 100 V2, choosing a 1,024Wh unit doesn't mean settling for less. This unit is a beast. Weighing in at 25 lbs and coming it at a 17 liter volume (12.6 x 9.8 x 8.5-inch), this is about 30% lighter and 35% smaller than units with a similar capacity from other manufacturers. It is, according to Bluetti, the smallest 1kWh power station around, and I have to agree with that.
It's become my grab-and-go power station for when weight matters.
The modest weight makes it a perfect choice for a grab-adn-go power station.
The Elite 100 V2 makes use of a bank of FeLiPO4 (lithium iron phosphate) cells with a 4,000 recharge cycle lifespan. To put this into perspective, if you were to put the unit through a daily charge/discharge cycle, day in, day out, the batteries would last a decade.
Power output is also exceptional. The unit can handle standard loads up to 1,800W, and resistive loads (such as heaters) up to a whopping 2,700W. I remember when power stations of this capacity couldn't handle loads half that size.
It also has an array of ports (ignore the photos, I've got the UK version for testing), from the four AC outlets, one 140W USB-C and one 100W USB-C port, two 15W USB-A ports, two DC5521 outlets, and a 12V car port.
It's also perfect for use as a UPS for things like your Wi-Fi router, fish tank, or CPAP machine, as it kicks into action in only 10 milliseconds in the event of a power outage.
And it's also quiet, normally no louder than 30dB (library quiet), and hitting 50dB under full load (a quiet refrigerator).

How I rated this deal
The Elite 100 V2 is an exceptionally well-made power station, and a massive leap forward compared to previous 1kWh units in terms of size and weight, power output, port configuration, and how quiet it runs. It redefines what I expect from a power station of this size (and price!).
