All tours have to pack up the amps eventually. In "Spinal Tap II: The End Continues", the world’s most accident-prone metal band reunites for one last hurrah. If you've been quoting “these go to 11” for four decades, you're probably more than ready to catch the sequel to one of the biggest cult classic mockumentaries of all time. There's just one catch: You can only see it at a theater right now.

If you'd rather wait to watch from your couch, that's totally fair, but "Spinal II" is not available via streaming just yet. So, when can you live the rock star life at home? Here's when we think you'll be able to stream "Spinal Tap II."

When can we expect the 'Spinal Tap II: The End Continues' streaming release?

"Spinal Tap 2: The End Continues" has only just cranked into theaters as of September 12, so you’ll need to hold on a little longer before you can watch it at home. There’s no official digital or streaming date yet, but we can make an informed call based on the distributor’s usual pattern.

This movie is distributed by Bleecker Street, which commonly moves titles to paid video-on-demand a few weeks after opening. That points to a potential digital release window in the early October range. Your first at-home stop should be a digital release usual stores like Amazon, Apple and others. Our best estimate is that the movie will land on Sept. 30 or Oct. 7 based on recent Bleecker Street timelines.

After that PVOD window, the film will most likely stream on Paramount Plus with Showtime. Bleecker Street has an exclusive output agreement that sends its films to Showtime within five months of theatrical release, which would place "Spinal Tap 2" on subscription streaming no later than January to February 2026, if the standard timing is correct here as well.

Watch On

Set in the present day, "Spinal Tap II: The End Continues" follows Nigel Tufnel (Christopher Guest), David St. Hubbins (Michael McKean) and Derek Smalls (Harry Shearer) as they face a contractual obligation to reunite for one last concert.

That obligation comes from Hope Faith (Kerry Godliman), daughter of their late manager, who produces paperwork that binds the band to a final gig. Fictional documentary filmmaker Marty Di Bergi (Rob Reiner) picks up his camera again to follow the chaos as the trio tries to make good on the agreement and scrape together a functioning lineup.

We catch up with each Tapper and see where life took them after the first film. Nigel runs a small cheese and guitar shop and strums folk on the side. David makes music for true crime podcasts and on-hold systems, while Jeanine (June Chadwick) is a devout religious woman. Derek curates a glue museum and is still writing very serious music.

The band eventually recruits yet another drummer and heads toward a New Orleans send-off as this madcap foray into rock and roll rambles on. If you enjoyed the original, you'll be excited for this one too.
