Will ‘F1’ help Apple finally win one in the movie and streaming race?

After years of middling success on the big screen, Apple has bet big on the racecar movie starring Brad Pitt with a budget of nearly $250 million

There is very little that Apple Inc. AAPL hasn’t been wildly successful at, but its foray into the movie and TV business has been the rare exception.

So it is racing into the weekend with the hopes that its megabudget racecar film “F1 The Movie” — starring Brad Pitt, produced by Jerry Bruckheimer and helmed by “Top Gun: Maverick” director Joseph Kosinski — will help it win box-office gold.
