Apple has announced that the following iPad models are compatible with iPadOS 26:
- iPad Pro (M4), iPad Pro 12.9-inch (3rd generation and later), iPad Pro 11-inch (1st
generation and later) - iPad Air (M2 and later), iPad Air (3rd generation and later)
- iPad (A16), iPad (8th generation and later)
- iPad mini (A17 Pro), and iPad mini (5th generation and later)
How to identify your iPad model and iPadOS version
If you’re unsure of the exact model and generation of your iPad, it’s easy to check:
Settings > General > Aboutand check the model name and generation.
To check which version of iPadOS you are currently running:
Settings > Software Updateand check your current version. If an update is available, your iPad will show it here.
