One of the best JRPGs from 2024 is finally coming to Xbox Game Pass

It has been a pretty sweet year or two for fans of JRPGs. Everyone is raving about Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 right now (and for good reason), but that doesn't mean we should forget about the titles that came before it. Before we even learned what the gommage was, we were tucking into the excellent JRPG Metaphor: ReFantazio and its phenomenal soundtrack.

The game isn't even a year old yet, but if you haven't given it a try and you're a subscriber to the Xbox Game Pass, you'll have an excellent opportunity to give it a spin for no additional cost. Metaphor: ReFantazio is coming to the Pass soon, alongside a few other excellent titles that you can try.

In an emailed press release, Microsoft gave us a look at the upcoming Xbox Game Pass schedule for the end of May. Among the list is one of my personal picks, Metaphor: ReFantazio, an excellent JRPG with one of the best game soundtracks I've heard.

If you're on the fence about it, our wonderful sister website TheGamer wrote a piece on how Metaphor: ReFantazio’s world makes recent fantasy RPGs seem generic and gave it a perfect, shining 5 out of 5 score in its review. If you want to give it a spin, you can do so when the game launches on Xbox Game Pass for Cloud, PC, and Xbox Series X|S gaming on May 29th. People who subscribe to the Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass, and Game Pass Standard tiers will unlock the game.

But that's far from all the titles coming to the Pass. In fact, you already have access to Monster Train 2 and S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 right away, and you have Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 to look forward to on May 27th.
