Logitech recently provided me with its Casa Pop Up Desk for review, and it’s a nifty little gadget for those who want more of a fixed desk setup while working on the go. If you’re more of a coffee shop person or always working outdoors – this could be a neat product for you.
Overview
The Casa Pop Up Desk comes in at $179.99, and while that sounds like a hefty price based on just the product name – you’re getting more than what the name would suggest.
You’re not just paying for a nice little book-style desk accessory, it also comes with a stowable keyboard and trackpad for working on the go. The desk also has a little compartment for storing cables, earbuds, flash drives and other things you might need to carry around.

Thoughts
Given the fact that Apple’s Magic Trackpad comes in at $129 on its own, I think the pricetag of this product seems relatively reasonable if this product is for you. That said, are the included keyboard and trackpad any good?
Well, from my testing – they’re certainly up to par. The trackpad isn’t going to be as good as Apple’s Magic Trackpad. It has a decently loud clicking noise, and still relies on a traditional diving-board mechanism. That said, it does support all of the great macOS gestures you’d want from a trackpad – as long as you install the Logi Options+ companion app. At least for me, three finger gestures didn’t work out of the box.
On the other hand, the keyboard is fantastic. If you’ve ever used a Logitech MX keyboard, you’ll like this one. The keys feel great, the enclosure is built nicely, and it has all of the Mac-specific keys that you’d expect.
As for the desk itself, it’s ultimately a lot of plastic-feeling materials, but it gets the job done. When you unfold the book style case, the top part folds and has a satisfying magnetic click to hold it in the propped-up position you’ll need for laptop usage. Ultimately, I really appreciate having the higher angle while using my laptop.
Wrap up
All in all, this is a product I asked for – and I’m certainly pleased by it. It may not be perfect for everyone, but it’s right up my alley. Obviously, the alternative would be buying a Magic Trackpad, some sort of keyboard, and a laptop stand, which would probably come out to well over $250.
With Logitech’s product, you get all of it in a nice little package that folds up into a nice little folio for just $179. It also comes in three colors, in case you want something that suits you better. Personally I like the Tan/Purple.
