Look, I get it; picking Windows as your daily driver generally isn't the best idea if customizability is your most considerable interest. That goes double for Windows 11, which has actually taken the lack of custom stuff you can do on Windows and somehow found a way to make it even worse.
So, when Microsoft finally gave me something that allowed me to customize something that pretty much any other operating system could do, I got unreasonably happy about it. A new feature is coming that allows you to change where your indicators pop up, and I don't mind how hard the Linux users laugh; I like it.

Windows 11 is getting a new indicator position adjustment setting
Once again, we owe this cool piece of news to PhantomOfEarth on X. Phantom is very good at digging through Windows test builds and finding features that Microsoft is working on. They act as a scout for what Windows 11 is going to receive in the near future.
This time around, they discovered that on-screen indicators are finally getting options for where they appear on the screen. In case you're unsure, "on-screen indicators" involve stuff like the volume fly-out that appears when you adjust your system's volume levels. I don't recall a Windows operating system ever allowing us to change where these appear, so this is a huge plus for me.
Of course, Microsoft being Microsoft, we don't get to choose any location we like. It's restricted to only a handful of areas on the screen, and by the looks of the screenshot, they seem pretty limited. However, at this point, I'll take whatever I can get.

this new volume flyout option is such a cool tweak! I’ve always missed having that top left vibe from Windows 10, so seeing Microsoft bring back some flexibility is awesome. Which one do you vibe with more? Can’t wait to try it out myself!
Unfortunately, while Microsoft has been adding some nice new features over the past few years, it has also taken a few steps backward in some areas. In fact, some would argue that Windows 11 has gotten worse with every update.
